Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 May 2026
These terms of service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the EndMile journey planning service ("Service") operated by EndMile Routing ("we", "us", "our"), covering endmilerouting.co.uk, app.endmilerouting.co.uk, and guide.endmilerouting.co.uk. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. For visitors using our venue arrival guides, supplementary Guide terms apply regarding venue arrival data, static fare assumptions, and affiliate booking links.
What our service does
EndMile is a multimodal journey planning and comparison tool for travel within the United Kingdom. It allows users to compare routes across train, bus, driving, cycling, taxi, and combined transport modes. The Service displays estimated total journey cost, carbon emissions, journey duration, and risk levels for each route option.
Where you access the Service through an employer or organisation subscription, your employer or organisation has accepted these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for managing your access.
Planning tool only
EndMile is an information and planning tool only. We do not sell, book, reserve, or provide any travel tickets, transport services, or accommodation. Where the Service provides links to third-party booking platforms (such as Trainline or Uber), those transactions are entirely between you and the third-party provider. We are not a party to any such transaction and accept no responsibility for it.
Accuracy of journey information
Route, timetable, and schedule data displayed in the Service is sourced from third-party providers, including but not limited to:
- National Rail Enquiries (via the OJP API) for train routes and fares
- Transport for London (TfL) for London transit services
- Traveline National Dataset (TNDS) for bus, tram, metro, and ferry timetables
- OpenStreetMap routing data for driving and cycling directions
- Google Directions for certain route calculations
- Photon (OpenStreetMap-based) for geocoding and address lookup
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any journey information displayed in the Service. Third-party data may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date at any time. Timetables may not reflect real-time disruptions, engineering works, cancellations, or schedule changes.
You should always verify journey details, departure times, and platform information directly with the relevant transport operator before travelling. We accept no responsibility for missed connections, delays, or any other loss arising from reliance on journey information displayed in the Service.
Cost estimates and financial information
Cost figures displayed in the Service, including total journey cost, fare estimates, fuel costs, parking costs, congestion charges, ULEZ charges, and HMRC mileage rates, are indicative estimates only and should not be treated as confirmed prices.
- Train fares are based on data available at the time of the query and may not reflect the actual price at the point of booking. Fares vary by operator, ticket type, time of purchase, and availability.
- Fuel cost calculations use average UK pump prices which change frequently and may not reflect the price you actually pay.
- Parking cost estimates may not reflect real-time pricing, availability, seasonal variations, or local conditions at any given car park.
- HMRC approved mileage rates (currently 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles and 25p per mile thereafter) are shown as of the date indicated and may be changed by HMRC at any time.
- Taxi and ride-hailing estimates (including Uber) are provided via third-party APIs and are subject to surge pricing, driver availability, and the provider's own terms. The actual fare may differ significantly from the estimate shown.
- Congestion Charge and ULEZ costs are based on publicly available charge zones and rates, which may change without notice.
We accept no liability for any financial loss or decisions made based on cost information displayed in the Service. You should independently verify all costs before committing to any journey or expenditure.
Carbon and emissions data
Carbon emission estimates displayed in the Service use conversion factors published by the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ, formerly DEFRA/BEIS). These are standardised national averages and do not reflect the actual emissions of any specific vehicle, train service, or bus route.
- Emission factors are updated periodically and may not always reflect the most current published values.
- Vehicle emission calculations assume an average car. Your actual emissions will vary depending on your vehicle's fuel type, engine size, age, and driving conditions.
- Public transport emission factors are fleet-wide averages and do not account for occupancy, rolling stock type, or energy source on any specific service.
Emissions data is provided for general informational and comparison purposes only. It should not be used for formal Scope 3 carbon reporting, regulatory compliance, carbon offsetting calculations, or any other purpose requiring verified emission data without independent verification by a qualified professional.
Weather data and risk assessments
Weather information displayed in the Service is sourced from the Open-Meteo API and represents a forecast at the time of your query. Weather forecasts are inherently uncertain and may not reflect actual conditions at the time of travel.
Risk levels and delay risk indicators displayed for journeys are algorithmically generated estimates based on available data, including weather forecasts, historical patterns, and route characteristics. These assessments are indicative only and are not a prediction or guarantee of actual travel conditions.
We accept no liability for any loss, injury, or inconvenience arising from reliance on weather data or risk assessments displayed in the Service. You should always check official weather warnings and transport operator alerts before travelling, particularly in adverse conditions.
Third-party content and links
The Service incorporates data from, and may provide links to, third-party services and websites, including but not limited to:
- National Rail Enquiries and individual train operating companies
- Transport for London (TfL)
- Trainline (for ticket booking)
- Uber (for ride-hailing)
- Google Maps and Google Directions
- OpenStreetMap contributors
- Open-Meteo (weather data)
We have no control over the content, availability, accuracy, pricing, or terms of service of any third-party provider. Your use of any third-party service accessed via the Service is governed entirely by that provider's own terms and conditions and privacy policy.
We are not responsible for any transaction, loss, dispute, or claim arising from your use of a third-party service, even if you accessed that service via a link within EndMile.
Accounts and access
The Service is primarily provided on a business-to-business subscription basis. Access is typically provisioned by your employer or organisation as part of a corporate travel management arrangement.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must not share your account credentials or allow others to access the Service through your account.
- You must notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being misused.
Access to the public web demo does not require an account and is subject to these same Terms.
Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract the source code of the Service or any part of it.
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the Service by automated means.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service beyond its intended user interface.

- Use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other user accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any breach of this section, without prior notice and without liability to you.
Intellectual property
All content, design, software, algorithms, and data compilations within the Service (excluding third-party data) are owned by or licensed to EndMile Routing and are protected by copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property laws.
Third-party data displayed within the Service (including timetables, maps, fares, and routing data) remains the intellectual property of its respective owners and is used under licence or under the terms of the relevant open data licence.
Your subscription or use of the Service grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose during the subscription term. This licence does not transfer any ownership of intellectual property to you.
Service availability
We aim to provide a reliable and available service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous operation. The Service may be unavailable or degraded due to:
- Scheduled or emergency maintenance.
- Updates, upgrades, or changes to the Service.
- Third-party API outages or data source unavailability.
- Infrastructure failures, network issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We will endeavour to give reasonable notice of planned maintenance where practicable, but are not obligated to do so.
No service level agreement (SLA) or uptime guarantee is implied by these Terms. If your organisation requires a specific SLA, this must be agreed in a separate written contract.
Limitation of liability
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable, or that any errors in the Service will be corrected.
Exclusion of indirect damages
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of business opportunities, loss of goodwill, or wasted expenditure, however caused and whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise.
Aggregate liability cap
Our total aggregate liability to you (or your organisation) for any and all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you (or your organisation) for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty pounds (£50), whichever is greater.
Protected rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.
You acknowledge that the Service provides planning and comparison information only, that all journey information and estimates are subject to change without notice, and that all travel decisions and associated risks are yours alone.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where we make material changes, we will notify you by email to the account administrator associated with your organisation's subscription, or by displaying a prominent notice within the Service.
Your continued use of the Service after changes have been notified constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
